Philosopher, Jurist, Essayist and Spanish University Professor. His research focuses on drugs and cannabis use. He is the author of General History of Drugs (1989), Chaos and Order (1999), The Enemies of Commerce (2008), among others.

Israeli professor of medicinal chemistry and natural products at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem in Israel, famous for having isolated and determined the structure and synthesis of the molecule tetrahydrocannabinol (THC), the main active ingredient of marijuana (Cannabis sativa) and for his work with the endocannabinoid system.
